One of the small fire trucks used aboard USS Dwight D Eisenhower to fight any fire that might erupt during aircraft operations. The deck of a carrier is said to be the most dangerous working environment in the world.

HMCS Athabaskan leaving Halifax for the Persion Gulf August, 1990 as part of Canada's contribution to the war.

HMCS Terra Nova leaves Halifax for the Persian Gulf in August 1990. The ship's weapons systems were hastily converted and upgraded with equipment designated for the new Halifax Class FFGs which were not yet available.

USS Coral Sea visiting Halifax, Nova Scotia October, 1989. Her entire air group is aboard, something not usually seen when the ship is in port. She has now been decommisioned and scrapped.

A pair of CHSS-2 Sea King helicopters from CFB Shearwater, NS demonstrate how they work as a team hunting down and destroying an enemy submarine.

HMCS Fraser, now decomissioned, awaits the day when she will be restored on the Lahave River in Bridgewater, Nova Scotia. This once fine fighting ship has deteriorated severly since arriving at Bridgewater and hopefully the organization in charge of her will soon start work on this monumental task.

Three of Canada's four Oberon Class SSK's await their fate on a foggy morning. They are berthed in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, across the harbour from Halifax. Fortunately one of the four, Onondaga will soon be set up at the Site Historique Maritime in Quebec.

September 12, 2001. My tour of the Little Creek Amphibious Base, Virginia, is abruptly cancelled. On this day before more permanent barricades are put in place, an armed amphibious vehicle protects the main entrance from any possible attack.

USS Albacore is now out of her element serving as a fine museum in Portsmouth, NH. She was an experimental submarine used to explore the now standard 'tear drop' shaped hull which enables the high speeds enjoyed by submarines today.

HMCS Sackville is situated on the Halifax, NS waterfront adjacent to the Museum Of The Atlantic. One of many WW-II Canadian Corvettes which bravely fought the North Atlantic as well as German U-Boats while shepherding vital convoys, she is beautifully restored and serves as a fine monument to those who risked everything to maintain our freedom.

The remaining Restigouche Class frigates rest quietly alongside at CFB Halifax awaiting their fate. Once world leaders in anti-submarine warfare, they are now surplus and will probably be scrapped.
